Import Customs & Operations Executive – VR/21745
Our client, a Global Logistics company, is looking for an Import Customs & Operations Executive to join their team in Tilbury for an immediate start. This role would be suitable for someone with a quick brain, who knows how to make the right decision in sometimes difficult circumstances.
The role of Import Customs & Operations Executive:
The ideal candidate for the role will have experience in liaising with HMRC, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors, including shipping lines and hauliers, as this will be a big part of the role. Doing so on a regular basis will increase the potential of maximising profitability for the business. You must also be prepared to take on lots of office duties of a Customs Clearance/Administrative nature.
You must have at least 2-3 years’ experience of handling multimodal worldwide import shipments (Air, Ocean & Road freight) and working hand in glove with the Customs team for a small to medium sized freight forwarder. You must also have a good understanding of all forwarding operational activities, good knowledge of the Customs Clearance process and knowledge of CHIEF (soon to be replaced by CDS) and Destin8.
Good verbal and writing skills are essential, along with presentation, spelling, grammar and maths skills. You must also be reliable, punctual and have great ambition. You will be IT literate with experience of using Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
The successful Import Customs & Operations Executive will receive a salary of £20-30k depending on experience.
