LogiScope reduces logistics costs by 15% and improves customer service

Supply chain specialist, Rocket Consulting, has today launched LogiScope, a mobile logistics management application.

The company tells My Logistics Magazine the new tool will help organisations to reduce logistics costs by an average of 12-15% (see Note 1) as well as improve customer service.

LogiScope is the first product of its kind to offer full, out-of-the-box integration with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as the SAP Business Suite ERP platform, and supply chain processes at every stage of the logistics operation.  It brings together many features that have previously been fragmented across separate systems, thereby tackling the logistics industry problem that older mobility solutions are often poorly joined-up.

By providing end-to-end delivery and returns management information in real and right-time, LogiScope enables proactive decision-making.  This maintains and improves customer service, satisfaction and retention, reduces costs and creates the opportunity for competitive advantage.

LogiScope scales to fit small businesses as well as large enterprises, across all logistics scenarios from service providers, shippers and forwarders.  The application

has been developed by Rocket Consulting, in collaboration with SAP and ALK Technologies, market leaders in commercial vehicle routing and GPS navigation software, CoPilot® Professional. LogiScope has been designed from the ground up to make sure users benefit from the capabilities and user-experience of the latest logistics industry devices, smartphones and tablets.

Key LogiScope features include:

  • Live feeds of all customer service and logistics information to support pro-active protection and improvement to customer service and communication.
  • Vehicle checks before each journey to ensure compliance and avoid delays.
  • Mobile delivery and driver schedules, taking into account available driving time.
  • Vehicle routing and navigation, including live vehicle location and traffic conditions to optimise drop sequence and reduce delivery times.
  • Electronic proof of delivery and collection to improve real-time visibility and enable fast discrepancy management (via a device camera for example).
  • Vehicle progress tracking with dynamic estimated time of arrival and customer notifications.
  • Vehicle and driver performance information, including customer satisfaction feedback at the point of delivery, to drive up service levels and reduce logistics costs.

“The logistics element of the supply chain is frequently challenging to optimise, as the supplier often does not have full control over the applications and services handling their products.  Also, logistics is rarely a focal point for improving customer service and experience,” explains Lewis Marston, CEO of Rocket Consulting (pictured).

“Various tools to manage the separate elements have been available for many years.  However, LogiScope is the first time that these have been brought together under one roof to provide data at the right time and in context of the business process, in an application that plugs in directly into ERP system such as SAP.  The result is real-time information that informs decision-making, improves customer service and drives down costs.”

Christopher Quin, director of business development, EMEA, ALK Technologies, said:

“At ALK Technologies, we are always keen to see CoPilot Professional integrated into new and exciting projects, especially ones with the breadth of market that LogiScope will address.  We have appreciated the dedication of Rocket Consulting in developing this application and look forward to the future success of LogiScope.”

Costs for LogiScope are currently between £30 and £65 per month.
