Europa warmly welcomes new recruits

Leading logistics operator Europa Worldwide Group, has appointed Angie Reece to the brand-new position of Recruitment Onboarding Coordinator.

Europa has seen significant growth over the last 12 months, recruiting over 400 permanent new starters and expanding its global footprint to Shanghai.

With building positive team spirit as a core value, Europa has invested in new processes to ensure all recruits know they are valued members of the family from day one.

At the start of the year, Angie Reece, who has worked at the company for 16 years in a variety of HR positions; was appointed as Recruitment Onboarding Coordinator.

The purpose of Angie’s role is to ensure that new team members are supported from when they first accept an offer right up to their first day.

In its innovative nature Europa created this post to ensure the onboarding experience is as simple and welcoming as possible.

This is a creative solution to the recruiting challenges seen across many sectors. The ONS recently reported vacancies in the UK rose to a new record in the period from December 2021 to February 2022, with half of the industry sectors showing record highs.

Head of Recruitment, Vanita Dass-Puri, who appointed Angie to the role said: “Angie cares about people, she has a great relationship with the existing teams and is passionate about Europa.

“Having been with us since 2006 she thoroughly understands the company and our people. With the ability to work efficiently across all divisions, ensuring all new joiners get the easiest start.

We are a dynamic company, and a large part of Angie’s role is ensuring everything comes together internally – improving processes and coordination across the board.

Angie is the first point of contact for all permanent staff members, across all divisions, at all levels of the business.

Since January, she has supported 135 people in their roles at Europa, with Road seeing the highest intake with 95 new starters: a result of national expansion with three new sites.

On her new appointment Recruitment Onboarding Coordinator, Angie Reece said: “I worked previously in HR for Europa and was so excited to start this new role.

“It feels good to make a positive impact on people starting at Europa. We’ve seen the extra support make a real difference to recruits who start already feeling confident and part of the team.”

Angie’s role makes up part of a string of new processes to welcome new starters; as Europa continues to diversify with the times, leading the way to improve experiences for all.
