Regardless of your business, location in the world and scale of operation, factors such as technology, competition and high customer expectations present both obstacles and exciting prospects for success. This is especially the case if you can offer customers a unique offering, innovation, efficiency and demonstrate proven best practice.

In the transport industry, we have had to respond to the challenges around reduced consignment size, accessibility to improved technology and increasing popularity of online shopping. Due to these factors and others, the logistics sector faces increased costs and less profit for each delivery. Added to this is the investment the transport industry needs to make to maintain an efficient and profitable operation in a country such as Australia, which faces challenges associated with the sheer size of the road network and massive distances to many delivery locations.

It is companies’ ability to create values outside of commoditised transport that diverts these issues and our team at Hitech Asia Pacific has continued to experience year-on-year growth over the past 15 years due to our value-add approach.

We have been able to achieve longevity through capitalising on a niche gap in the marketplace. Our business is entirely focused on highly sensitive, valuable freight rather than shifting bulk commodities.

Hitech Asia Pacific is responsible for storing, moving and installing multi million-dollar equipment on behalf of clients servicing hospitals, health care facilities, major corporations and government facilities across Australia and New Zealand.

On behalf of our customers, we receive capital equipment from international suppliers and make sure the transportation and delivery of highly sensitive and valuable medical, printing, IT and X-ray security equipment is seamless. For example, we are responsible for more than 70 per cent of all deliveries of medical capital equipment to health care facilities across Australia. Being the market leader has come about through adding value to our customers beyond a simple delivery. Providing services such as quality assurance in our warehouses, testing rooms, and support such as mechanical installation services.

We are in the unique position where we can plan our deliveries strategically and work around our customers’ time frames.

Our deliveries require the relocation of multi-tonne machinery, at off-peak times and often the coordination of cranes, road closures and other logistical challenges. To supplement our skills-base, our core team works with a preferred network of suppliers to assist on the unique elements of each job, including building services, traffic management through to plant and machinery hire.

Success is achieved through working with suppliers and customers to provide thorough project management solutions and ensure machinery is successfully delivered and installed without damage and with minimal impact on customers’ stakeholders.

Our project managers and drivers are employed to coordinate the jobs on the ground and scope the specialised nature of our deliveries across the length the breadth of Australia. With our main facilities located nearby to major international airports, we are able to promptly, safely and manage the ‘last mile’ of deliveries of sensitive equipment shipped to Australia from destinations around the world.

For our customers’ peace of mind, and their own quality management processes, a priority for our business over the past year has been securing international-standard accreditation.

It is therefore with great pride that Hitech Asia Pacific became the first Australian sensitive logistics company to receive the world’s leading management system standard ISO 9001 for all processes, comprehensively covering the markets and industries we service.

Recognised in over 170 countries, ISO 9001 accreditation assesses companies on principles including customer focus, leadership, systems, professional development and relationships.

The qualification provides customers with sound evidence that our nation-wide logistics company offered proven, reliable processes and had trusted risk management strategies.

Given the value of the equipment we transport and install, customers can have peace of mind their deliveries are in safe hands.

Achieving a world wide recognised accreditation, such as the ISO 9001 accreditation, takes time and investment but the commitment is worth the while when customers are entrusting equipment of significant financial and ‘sensitive’ components.

With the team’s collective experience and commitment to service, we had every confidence in our systems but achieving third party endorsement is further testament that our approach represents best practice.
