Our client, a well-known national Freight Forwarder, is currently seeking an Air Freight Product Manager for their team based in Heathrow.
The role of the Air Freight Product Manager is to oversee the branch operations, dealing with the training of all staff, implementing new procedures and ensuring the overall service levels are of the highest quality.
Main duties of the Air Freight Product Manager:
Oversee the driver schedule, ensuring the delivery of cargo are efficient and cost-effective.
Responsible for implementing a standard operating procedure (SOP).
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and feedback to shape product improvements.
Liaise with various teams, including sales, operations, and customer service, to ensure a seamless end-to-end customer experience.
Deal with profit and loss, ensuring reports are submitted on time.
Ensure the operations complies with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Regularly reviewing the performance of transporters to ensure service levels are up to standard.
Keep a log of all service failures, root cause analysis and all preventative measures.
The successful Air Freight Product Manager will have a minimum of 10-20 years’ experience working within an Airfreight department.
You will also need to have 3-5 years’ experience working in a managerial role, overseeing a team of at least 5-10 people.
Having experience in perishables would be an advantage but is not essential.
Knowledge & experience required:
Knowledge of Cargo Wise would be ideal
Strong leadership and project management abilities.
Excellent communications skills (strong English – verbal & written)
Strong IT skills – proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.
