Our client, a provider of air freight, sea freight and international courier services, are currently looking for a Branch Manager to join their team in Northampton.
As the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient planning, direction and coordination of the activities of employees engaged in the movement of International Ocean, Road and Air Freight (Exports & Imports).
Main duties of the Branch Manager:
Manage staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop personnel.
Control and improve service quality.
Ensure good liaison between sales and operational departments at all levels.
Have commercial competence to develop new business.
To step in and fulfil day to day operational duties if required and build a team to enable growth
Prepare performance reports and analysis including profit and loss of the department.
Have an appropriate knowledge of import and export customs procedures.
Work closely to develop potential business and devise strategic approaches to the market.
Visit existing clients to ensure the customer is receiving adequate customer service and to explore other opportunities.
Experience Required for the Branch Manager:
Previous Multimodal Freight Forwarding experience.
Management experience.
Good communication skills.
Customer Liaison at all levels.
Management reporting.
Previous commercial experience – account management and looking for new business opportunities.
