Innovation & Category Buyer
Location: Normanton (Hybrid – three days in the office, two days from home)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 (flexible)
Salary: £33,000 – £35,000
Our client is seeking an Innovation & Category Buyer to join their team. This role will focus on sourcing and managing suppliers, negotiating costs, and leading the introduction of new and innovative product categories.
The Role
– Identify, evaluate and launch new product categories in line with strategic growth plans.
– Source and onboard new suppliers, securing favourable commercial terms.
– Manage end-to-end product introduction, from concept through to launch and performance tracking.
– Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.
– Work cross-functionally with Procurement, Product Marketing and Sales to integrate new products.
– Ensure supplier compliance with responsible sourcing and quality standards.
– Monitor the success of new products, recommending adjustments to maximise value.
About You
– Proven experience in buying, product management, or category development.
– Strong negotiation skills with a track record of managing suppliers and costs.
– Commercially sharp with strong market analysis skills.
– Organised and results-driven, able to manage multiple projects.
– Innovative and creative, with the ability to shape compelling new product propositions.
