Our client, leading providers in Warehouse, distribution, and Logistics services, are currently seeking a Customs Bond & Compliance Clerk to join their fast-growing team based in Essex.
Your role as the Customs Bond & Compliance Clerk will be to assist with the implementation of compliance procedures.
You will be ensuring compliance with customs regulations, managing customs bonds, and facilitating smooth import and export operations.
On a daily basis, you will liaise with customs authorities, internal departments and government agencies to discuss inquiries and resolve any issues that arise. You will be providing accurate information regarding customs regulations and compliance matters.
Other duties will include:
Identify possible opportunities for process enhancements, automation, and cost savings.
Prepare regular reports on customs activities, compliance status, and overall performance metrics.
Review and authorise customs documentation such as Import / Export declarations, invoices and bills of lading.
Dealing with all documentation, ensuring all documentation is accurately complete, and records are organised and easy to access for audit purposes.
Managing and maintaining accurate records of customs bonds.
Monitor bond levels, tracking bond expirations, and liaising with the appropriate parties to renew new bonds.
Conduct internal audits and compliance reviews to identify any potential issues or discrepancies.
Keep yourself up-to-date with all customs regulations, trade agreements, and relevant laws to ensure compliance and adherence.
To be the successful Customs Bond & Compliance Clerk, you will need to have strong knowledge of customs, and experience handling bond operations.
Knowledge / experience required:
Knowledge of Duty Suspended Goods, Duty Claims, and bond compliance.
Know the difference between Customs Bonds and Excise Bonds.
Able to open & close ARC.
