Customs Coordinator – Slough (England)

Our client is a specialist in Freight Forwarding, Transportation and Logistics Solutions, and they are currently looking for a Customs Coordinator for their team in Heathrow, to coordinate Import and Export activities, conforming to HM Revenue & Customs regulations and the following governing departments & organisations

Hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.30pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch and with approximately 1 in 6 Saturday’s required. In return, you will be offered a salary of up to £26K DOE.

We are looking to speak to candidates who have previous experience as a Customs Coordinator or in a similar role preferable (experience in freight for over two years).

Duties of the Customs Coordinator:

Ensure accurate & timely data entry into operating system.
Ensure all goods are “packaged out” of the ETSF within the required timescales.
Ensure bond checks are completed by the warehouse teams on a weekly basis.
Ensure the bond checks are reviewed within the system & any admin work to reconcile is undertaken timely.
Ensure all release & removal notes for goods removing from the ETSF are appropriately signed for & scanned to E.doc for audit purposes.
Ensure housekeeping functions are performed where appropriate on ETSF inventories created.
Assist in the management of time limits available for goods remaining in the ETSF pending & post clearance.
Assist in maintaining the authorization within Heathrow, & be involved in any adjustments to that authorisation deemed necessary.
Audit files & work with the teams on meeting operating process standards & AEO regulations.
Build & maintain strong relationships with branch departments & governmental Customs organisations.
Monitor undischarged Transit forms.
Monitor duty deferment usage & levels.

Requirements for the Customs Coordinator role:

Quality organisational skills & ability to manage many tasks or projects at the same time.
Ability to prioritise own workload but also be able to work as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, both written & verbal.
Conversant in IT skills e.g., Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) & systems.
Demonstrate working administrative background.
Must have an analytical skill, with a high level of attention to detail.
