Our client, an international freight forwarding service provider, is looking to take on an experienced Export Operator for their team in Basildon.
As the Export Operator, you will need working knowledge of general exports including handling bookings, understanding the terminology used in shipping, bills of lading, customs entries.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be in charge of the processing and confirmation of export bookings, maintaining and updating basic export tariff rates as well as Customer specific export rates in the Quotation tool system. You will also be responding to customer queries quickly and efficiently, so it goes without saying, you will need excellent customer service skills.
Other duties include:
The issuance of export bills of lading, freight invoices, ships manifests and information security
Liaising with overseas agents / customers / hauliers
Creating files both manually and on the computer system
Receiving and checking relevant documentation and passing on to shipping lines
Planning and arranging deliveries
