Our specialist fine art transport and storage Client is currently looking to appoint a Fine Art Logistics Manager, based in London. Experience in Fine Art handling and transportation is essential for this role.
Reporting directly to the company’s Director, the Fine Art Logistics Manager will be responsible for delivering a first class end-to-end service; from estimates and shipping to invoicing, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
Fine Art Logistics Manager duties include:
Providing estimates for international road and airfreight shipments for both import and export, to include UK transport, packing and crating, export documentation, and all modes of international transport to include overseas charges.
Providing estimates for international import and export full container sea freight shipments, to include all equivalent costs as per airfreight estimates.
Providing estimates for European import and export road transport shipments, both consolidated and dedicated, using company vehicles and 3rd party agents.
Overseeing all aspects of the company’s international transport movements, managing two members of departmental staff.
Carrying out all modes of shipping with close liaison with colleagues from UK transport, warehousing, and storage teams.
Liaising with the company’s UK transport and customs brokers to ensure correct customs clearance procedures for all import and export shipments as well as providing instructions to same brokers for customs clearance diversions.
Accurately maintaining and referring to Bonded warehouse and TA control sheets.
Liaising with clients including galleries and overseas agents to ensure delivery of all required services to an excellent standard.
Raising and managing workflow, invoicing and service purchasing using Moveware.
Raising invoices to clients and making sure that all performed services are accounted for.
Processing purchase invoices, making sure charges are correct and that the costs are accounted for in relative sales.
Ensuring all relevant paperwork and electronic data is processed correctly and stored with the appropriate shipping files.
Maintaining excellent client relationships by keeping customers updated and informed at all times, and going to whatever lengths are required to ensure maximum client satisfaction.
Ensuring that colleagues are kept up to date on shipping and UK transport/warehouse movements in order that workflows can be planned properly and operations run effectively.
We’re keen to speak to people who have at least five years’ experience dealing with multi-modal international fine art transport.
Candidates will need to have a thorough understanding of both import and export fine art customs procedures and UK VAT rules in relation to international shipping, as well as be highly competent in discussing UK customs procedures, airline and ocean shipping charges, worldwide geography, fine art packing and crating techniques, and air and sea shipping procedures.
In return, the successful Fine Art Logistics Manager will be offered up to £50,000, in line with skills and experience.
