Our client, a leading independent freight forwarder; is currently looking for two Import Customs Clerks to join their team in Stanford-Le-Hope, to prepare documentation for import customs clearance and liaise with customers and consignees. This role will eventually be on a shift pattern, working shifts from 6am -10pm daily.
We’re keen to speak to people who have already been working in a similar role and are experienced in import and export customs clearance as well those with good knowledge of Destin8, CNS and MultiFreight. Import Customs Clerks have a good operational know-how of import procedures, excellent customer service skills and commercial sense. You’ll be a proficient communicator; in person, on the phone and in writing.
Duties of the Import Customs Clerk:
Process and monitor import/export clearances
Liaise with Customs Authorises and Port Health
Follow-up with customers and consignees
Experience required for the Import Customs Clerk:
Good knowledge of Microsoft office, including Excel and databases
Strong communications and organisational skills
Strong work ethics with focus on attention to detail and accuracy
Team player and self-driven with a positive attitude
