Import & Export Clerk – Birmingham (England)

Our client, an exhibition company, is looking for an Import & Export Clerk to join their team in Birmingham, to arrange bookings and collections/deliveries, as well as completing all relevant shipping documentation.

The successful Import & Export Clerk will have excellent communication and customer service skills, as you will be updating customers with the progress of their consignments. Having previous administration experience is also a good attribute for this role, as you will be creating files and sending bookings to customs agents. Other general duties include dealing with customers and hauliers, etc.

Duties of the Import & Export Clerk:

Receiving pre-alerts from overseas agents
Advising customers of arrival of cargo into the UK
Planning loads and sending load lists to agents
Checking manifests once received
Receiving and checking relevant import documentation and passing on to shipping lines

Experience required from the Import & Export Clerk:

Good understanding within the Freight forwarding industry
You must have experience in Imports and Exports
Computer literate
