Import Export Customs Team Leader – Stanford-le-Hope (England)

Our client, a well established freight forwarder, is seeking an experienced Import/Export Coordinator & Team Leader to join their team in Essex. This full-time, permanent role will involve leading a small team, coordinating import and export shipments, and handling customs clearance using inhouse software. The salary is dependent on experience.

As the Import/Export Coordinator & Team Leader, your primary responsibility will be to supervise and guide your team to meet company objectives, while managing the full scope of import/export operations, from shipping and freight forwarding to customs clearance.

We are keen to speak with enthusiastic individuals who have experience in import/export coordination and team leadership within the freight/logistics industry. A good knowledge of customs procedures and familiarity with systems such as CDS, Multifreight would be highly advantageous.

Duties of the Import/Export Coordinator & Team Leader:

Leading and supervising a small team to meet company objectives.
Coordinating import/export shipments efficiently.
Managing general duties related to imports/exports, shipping, and freight forwarding.
Handling customs clearance via CDS using software.  
Producing timely and accurate shipping documentation through the Freight Management Systems.
Identifying and following up on opportunities with prospective customers using initiative.
Using the Freight Management System, alongside Microsoft software like Outlook, Word, and Excel, with a high degree of accuracy.
Contributing to team performance by sharing and implementing best practice ideas.

Skills Required from the Import/Export Coordinator & Team Leader:

Experience in leading a team and coordinating import/export operations.
Strong understanding of Air, Sea, and Road Import/Export.
Familiarity with customs procedures and systems like CDS.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent communication, organizational, and numerical skills.
Strong work ethic with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a proactive and team oriented attitude.
