Import Operator – Merseyside – VR22109
The Company & Role:
Our client, a professional logistics company offering freight services across the North West and UK, is looking for an experienced Import Operator to join their busy team in Merseyside.
Duties of the Import Operator:
- Dealing with a variety of commodities for all shipments
- Handle the whole life cycle of the shipment from clearance to delivery to the customer
- Complete day to day customs clearance and entries for all ocean and air freight shipments
- Import and Export clearances though HMRC CHEIF
- Enter data onto DataFreight
- Create and amend ERTS manifests
- Arrange delivery onward to the client
- Invoicing rent and other ancillary charges
- Passing purchase invoices
- Deal with all queries quickly and efficiently
- Build good working relationships with both customers and colleagues
Experience required for the Import Operator:
- Must be experienced with the completion and processing of Import customs entries.
- Knowledge of Destin8 and CNS systems.
- Must be computer literate.
- Raising invoices to clients and accruing costs in the companys system.
- Ability to work accurately and proficiently under pressure
- Able to use own initiative and work as part of a team.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
In return the successful Import Operator will receive a salary depending on skills and experience.
