Mandarin Speaking Operator / Customer Service – Chelmsford (England)


Our Client, a fast-growing freight forwarding company are looking for a Mandarin speaking Customer Service Operator to oversee smooth execution of the whole shipment lifecycle. Working with a small and friendly, but busy team based in Chelmsford, you’ll be the primary point of contact for the company’s Chinese customers. Day-to-day you’ll be working closely with shipping companies and hauliers on behalf of these key accounts. It goes without saying that first class customer service skills are a must for a Customer Service Operator, but Mandarin speaking is key for this particular position.

If you speak Mandarin and English and have some experience from a logistics/freight background, we want to hear from you!

Successful Customer Service Operators are organised by nature and computer literate, with excellent attention to detail skills. You’ll be a confident communicator as well as good with numbers.

Customer Service Operator duties include:

  • Managing Key Accounts from start to finish
  • Communicating in Mandarin and English
  • Quotations
  • Taking bookings
  • Arranging collections with transport department / hauliers
  • Creating files both manually and on the computer system
  • Negotiating rates with shipping companies
  • Preparing documentation, i.e. Bills of Lading
  • Letter of Credit requirements
  • Charging files
