Our Client is one of the world’s leading global logistics providers, offering worldwide air and ocean freight, contract logistics and supply chain management. To meet increased demand, they are urgently looking for an experienced Ocean Export Operator to join their team in Basildon, providing operational excellence. This vacancy is offered on a full-time permanent basis with a salary in the region of £30K DOE.
As the Ocean Export Operator, your prime duty is to receive export bookings from customers and process these bookings in the line with KPI requirements and meeting customers’ expectations.
The successful applicant will have a good understanding within the Freight forwarding industry. Competent with general freight forwarding requirements and procedures relating to Ocean exports.
Also, having excellent communication and customer service skills as you will be ensuring our internal / external customers are kept fully informed at all stages of the Export booking process and entirely satisfied with all services offered.
Duties of an Ocean Export Operator:
To ensure that the customer is invoiced accurately and within expected company timeframe
Ensure all export documentation is issued in accordance to customer instructions including issuance in a good time in line with expected standards
To ensure that once all shipment processes are completed that all expected costs are in line with expected profit levels
Ensuring any financial discrepancies including loss making shipments are investigated and reported to your line manager immediately
Experience required for an Ocean Export Operator:
Preferably 2 years’ experience within the freight forwarding Industry, with a minimum of 1 years’ experience
Ability to be flexible, approachable and understanding to satisfy customer needs
Ability to prioritise workloads in order to ensure efficiency gains
Willing to go the extra mile and customer service driven
Minimum GCSE standard in English and Maths (or equivalent) is essential
