About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to join our busy international removals and logistics team.
This role is ideal for a proactive, organised, and customer-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience leading teams, managing vehicles, and coordinating complex projects.
As the Removals Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the removals and logistics services, ensuring efficiency, safety, and exceptional service standards. You will play a key role in workforce management, scheduling, operational planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Removals Operations Manager duties include:
Lead and support the operations team, including drivers and logistics staff
Plan and schedule jobs, vehicles, and personnel efficiently
Ensure smooth daily workflows and timely service delivery
Coordinate with clients and internal teams for complex moves
Manage fleet maintenance, compliance, and health & safety standards
Monitor performance, implement improvements, and control costs
Recruit, train, and develop team members
Resolve operational issues and handle escalations
The successful candidate will have proven experience in an operations or team management role within removals, logistics, or transportation, ideally with 5+ years in the moving industry.
Key Requirements:
Strong leadership, organisational, and planning skills
Experience managing complex scheduling, dispatch, and vehicle operations
Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities
Working knowledge of health & safety regulations and transport compliance
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with logistics or scheduling software is a plus
HGV licence and forklift certification are advantageous but not essential
Experience with removals or logistics IT platforms (e.g., Moveware) is beneficial
You must hold a full UK Driving Licence; a CPC qualification is not essential but considered advantageous.
