Our client, a removals company, are currently looking for a new Transport Manager, to manage all aspects of your team of drivers and loaders, from performance through to training needs, as well as plan/route deliveries and collections. In return, you will receive a salary of up to £40K DOE.
The successful Transport Manager will have a full UK driver’s license, ideally be a CPC National holder and have proven people management skills and experience, as you will be managing staffing and roster for the transport department. Also, having excellent communication and interpersonal skills is a good attribute for this role as you will be liaising with the depots, customer service and sales to deliver a first-class customer experience.
Duties of the Transport Manager:
Sending your drivers out on time and fully briefed.
Ensure all health and safety obligations are met providing a legal and safe working environment
Fleet management, maintenance and associated administration.
Investigating any service or operational failures to ensure they are understood and prevented in future.
Develop operational improvements through an effective trained/flexible workforce focused on delivering service improvements, accurate resource levels and cost reductions.
Experience required for a Transport Manager:
Proven Transport knowledge and experience.
Excellent working knowledge of Transport legislation.
Proven record in Fleet Compliance in maintenance, MOTs Servicing and breakdowns.
Flexible leadership style with the ability to motivate staff to achieve results.
Competent Numerate with good attention to detail.
Competent Microsoft Office user including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
