We are currently seeking a Seafreight Import Operator for our client based in Ipswich, who specialise in Freight Forwarding. This is a hybrid role, working 3 days in the office.
The successful Seafreight Import Operator will have start to finish Sea Freight Import experience or have been working as a Seafreight Import Operator / Import Clerk / Import Coordinator, etc.
We are keen to speak to candidates who have at least 2 years’ industry experience within a similar role and a strong knowledge of Imports
As the Seafreight Import Operator, day-to-day duties will involve liaising with overseas agents / customers / hauliers, controlling all aspects of Seafreight imports from start to finish and everything in between.
You will be arranging deliveries / releases and quoting clients for shipments.
Duties continued:
Control all Seafreight Import activities on a start to finish basis
Ensure all Consignments are loaded onto computer system prior to arrival / departure
Keep customers fully informed of anything which may cause delay to a shipment
Develop constructive relationships with key customers and key supplier
Liaising with customers, dealing with all follow-ups
Invoicing shipments and collecting payments
