Our client, a well known freight forwarder, are currently looking for a fully experienced Seafreight Import Clerk to join their team in Leeds, to liaise with overseas agents, customers and hauliers as well as advise customers of arrival of cargo into the UK. In return, you will receive a salary of up to 35K depending on experience.
The Successful Seafreight Import Clerk will be planning loads & sending load lists to agents, checking manifests once received and passing purchase invoices and dealing with any queries.
We’re keen to speak with people who can confidently receive and check relevant import documentation and pass it onto shipping lines. Someone who can plan and arrange deliveries and deal with customs clearances would be perfect for this role.
Duties of a Seafreight Import Clerk:
Quoting rates
Receiving pre-alerts from overseas agents
Creating files both manually and on the computer system
Charging files
Experience required for a Seafreight Import Clerk:
Previous experience with Seafreight
Knowledge of Imports
Good administrative and computer (i.e. MS Excel) skills
