Due to increased demand, our Client who provides logistics and freight services, is expanding their team and is now looking for a Trainee Customs Operator to join their freight forwarding team in Castlesford. Day-to-day youll be dealing with specialised Customs processes using IT, phone and email communications. Full training will be given; you just need to be passionate about learning! Youll gain valuable experience and transferable skills within the freight forwarding industry, which is currently in very high demand. The Trainee Customs Operator is a full time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 5pm.

During training youll learn how to be proficient in:
Creating jobs using the in-house freight system
Generation of paperwork including drivers collection and delivery notes, international cargo manifests and CMR notes
Arranging domestic and international transport with internal departments and outside subcontractors
Transferring shipment information to International partners across Europe
Liaising with customers, partners, third party hauliers and agents via telephone and email
Client reporting and KPIs
Assisting with customs formalities including export / import declarations, arranging customs clearance, and duty deferment processing
