Our Client is a dynamic provider of logistics and freight forwarding solutions, delivering tailored and customer centric services globally. They are currently looking to appoint a Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee their fashion warehouse operation and lead the team to deliver excellence in service. This is full time permanent position based in Beckton, with a salary of up to £43k for the right person.
As Warehouse Operations Manager you will seek efficiencies and productivity enhancements within the warehouse operation to maximise throughput, bringing new ideas and a keen ethos of continuous improvement to enhance and develop new processes, adding value to customer experience and brand. This will include operational input in support of the company’s IT team to further develop their Warehouse Management System for future new business opportunities.
We’re keen to speak to motivational individuals, who have proven experience as a Warehouse Operations Manager or solid experience from working within the freight forwarding industry. You’ll need to be comfortable managing a team, dealing with everything managerial from training new team members and developing existing staff; through to team-building, appraising staff performance and decision making.
Excellent team building and people management skills as well as being able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure are imperative attributes for a successful Warehouse Operations Manager. If you have what it takes we want to hear from you!
Warehouse Operations Manager responsibilities include:
Lead and inspire your team with confidence, communicate a clear vision so all staff understand the expectations that you and the company have of them.
Develop your Shift Managers by delegating senior tasks, where appropriate.
Recognise good performance daily and provide regular site performance and company updates, through verbal, written and visual communication.
Manage staffing levels to maximise productivity, without compromising service levels.
Promote teamwork and cross departmental efficiency and support.
Understand and be able to fully explain the day-to-day activity on site, whilst also forward planning.
Understand relevant client SLA’s and adhere to the agreed timescales for specific activities, ensuring standards are maintained.
Produce monthly performance metrics and financial reports for both the business and customers.
Review existing processes and seek new solutions for changing requirements.
Embedding systemic processes for inbound/outbound precision, in conjunction with our IT support team on expanded track and trace solutions.
Ensure your site has the appropriate resources and equipment to deliver day to day business requirements and in conjunction with the operations support of senior management.
Work with the other Operations Managers to seek efficiencies within the teams and across the business.
Conduct regular reviews with the members of your team through one-to-one meetings, periodic and annual performance reviews. Identify and follow up individual training needs.
