Rohlig New Zealand celebrates its 25th anniversary

News just in from My Logistics Magazine’s friends in New Zealand: This year, Rohlig New Zealand celebrates its 25th anniversary in Auckland. Rohlig New Zealand, who owns three branches and employs 60 people in New Zealand, has been mastering the growing complexity of global freight forwarding for a quarter of a century.

In 1989, the owner run logistics company Rohlig, founded in 1852 in Bremen, Germany, started its subsidiary in the promising New Zealand market. Rohlig New Zealand’s first branch opened in Auckland and in 2001, Rohlig expanded with the Wellington branch. In 2008, the Christchurch branch followed and ever since the company has experienced a considerable supply chain evolution. All services are based on core competencies in the fields of sea freight, air freight, project logistics, warehousing and supply chain management.

Clients benefit from Rohlig as a supplier, who can manage the supply chain from pre-manufacturing to final delivery, all at the highest quality possible. It has significantly expanded its network in recent years, particularly in the emerging economies of Asia and South America. Furthermore, in countries where Rohlig does not have its own offices, it has agreements with selected local partners.

The company provides services for many vertical or industry-specific manufacturers like wine and seeds for many famous New Zealand brands. In addition, Rohlig is active in the fast-moving commodity markets of electronics, furniture and food products for both local and global consumption. Rohlig’s portfolio is thus prepared for New Zealand’s economic growth by 3% yearly over the next five years. The company combines a strong customer focus with high-quality standards and state-of-the-art technology. In the IT sector, the subsidiary Rohlig blue-net offers individual interfaces and web solutions.

Andrew Antonopoulos, Managing Director of Rohlig New Zealand told My Logistics Magazine: “In 25 years a lot has changed. We offer our New Zealand customers a long-term partnership and ongoing support in facing global logistics challenges, such as complex legislation, high competition as well as environmental and financial issues. This is the reason why Röhlig focuses on steady improvement and the highest quality.“
