Our client, a well-known leading customs broker, are currently looking for an IT Support Technician for their team based in Felixstowe, to assist team members in various departments to troubleshoot IT issues as and when they arise.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be setting up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (keyboards, mouse etc.), installing and configuring appropriate software, monitoring ticketing system and answering user issues in line with Company process and policy and in a timely manner. You will also train other employees, not to remedy basic computer technical issues, but to encourage reporting in order to enforce policies and to promote data security.
The successful IT Support Technician will have experience within an IT role, extensive software knowledge and a good level of literacy & numeracy.
Duties of the IT Support Technician:
Provide guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
Organise and schedule updates and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work (this may include performing updates out of hours)
Work with team members to troubleshoot / diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
To provide a high quality of user support to include:
o Microsoft 365 (Excel / Outlook / Word)
o Desktop support
o VOIP phone support
