Our client, a specialist in supply chain logistics and customs, is offering a great opportunity to join their team in Maldon as a Customs Clerk. They will consider either a Trainee or someone who is experienced.
You’ll be responsible for liaising with customers, customs authorities, coordinating customs clearances from start to finish, and everything in between. We’d love to speak to enthusiastic people who have previous experience working as a Customs Clerk / Customs Coordinator.
As a Customs Clerk, you’ll be organised by nature and will thrive in a fast paced and dynamic atmosphere. Being computer literate, having excellent attention to detail skills, as well as being good with numbers and a confident communicator are imperative attributes for the best Customs Clerks.
Responsibilities of the Customs Clerk:
Preparing documentation for import customs clearance, process and monitor import clearances
Liaising with customers and consignees, Customs Authorises and Port Health
Skills / Experience required for the Customs Clerk:
Previous customsentry experience working in customs, using CDS, CHIEF, Destin8 or similar systems etc.
Ability to be proficient at processing entries accurately with practical experience dealing with HM Customs for import deep-sea procedures.
Knowledge and practical experience classifying goods using the Customs Tariff Code.
