Our client, a well known international Freight Forwarder, is currently seeking a Import Groupage Road Freight Operator for their team based in Essex.
The role of the Import Groupage Road Freight Operator is to deal with all aspects of Import road freight to Europe, from quoting, to controlling dedicated trailers and vans, as well as calculating LTL shipments.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be liaising with customers to better understand their specific freight requirements and provide tailored transportation solutions.
Main duties & responsibilities of the role:
Working within a department of 8 people, part of a wider team of 47.
Handling European groupage services.
Arranging movement of freight from origin to final destination, both international and national.
Liaising with customers, overseas partners and suppliers.
The successful Import Groupage Road Freight Operator will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of European Road Freight, along with Import and groupage knowledge.
Experience required for the Import Groupage Road Freight Operator:
Must have a good understanding of European road freight, at least 2 years’ experience.
Capable of manually calculating costs and charges. · Understanding of taxable kilos.
Good customer service skills.
Experience with Customs paperwork.
Ability to work in a team but also be self-sufficient.
