Our client a provider of international imports and exports to and from the UK is currently seeking an International Operations Manager for their team based in Kent.
As the International Operations Manager, you will oversee and control of all aspects of the daily operation, from collection to delivery, ensuring customers’ instructions are always followed.
You will manage end-to-end logistics operations, including shipping, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and transportation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods worldwide.
Main duties of the International Operations Manager:
Deal with all operational aspects of the FTL and the LTL, ensuring all company processes, procedures and policies are followed.
Provide training and guidance to staff.
Monitor the performance of Fleet, providing regular reports to Senior Management.
Manage budgets for international operations, ensuring optimal allocation of resources while controlling costs.
Deal with holiday and sickness cover for the Transport Desks as and when required.
Ensure all files and records are kept up to date, ensuring confidentiality is applied when necessary.
General administration duties.
The successful International Operations Manager will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in International Transport Management, as well as previous experience working in a management position.
You will have strong leadership / team management abilities, and strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with global vendors and partners.
You will also have experience working as a Senior Planner of 3rd party traction operations on both full and part loads.
Qualifications & experience required:
Minimum of 8 years’ experience of International planning.
Good commercial awareness of EU Import and Export pricing.
Experience using logistics management software and tools.
Good IT skills – predominantly with Microsoft Office packages.
We are keen to speak with candidates who have strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate in another European language, which would be idea but is not essential.
