Our long established logistics Client specialises in air and sea freight solutions for their blue chip customers in the UK and across the globe. Due to demand they are currently looking to recruit a Junior Export Clerk to join their team in Birmingham on a full time, permanent basis.
You’ll gain valuable experience and transferable skills within the freight forwarding industry; you just need to be passionate about learning!
As Junior Export Clerk, on a day-to-day basis you’ll assist in everyday export shipping activities including documentation, bookings, haulage, LCL, FCL, airfreight etc. You will need to be a confident communicator as you’ll be liaising with customers to quote for shipments, negotiating rates with airlines, arranging transportation for collections and deliveries.
To be a successful Junior Export Clerk you must be able to take instruction and retain information. You should be organised by nature and thrive in a fast paced and dynamic atmosphere. Being computer literate and having excellent attention to detail, as well as being good with numbers are key.
Junior Export Clerk duties include:
Liaising with Clients via telephone and email.
Quoting clients for shipments.
Understanding of word, excel and outlook.
Able to work as a team but also independently.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Meeting demanding deadlines during busy periods.
