Our client, a leading NVOCC for the Freight and Logistics industry, are currently seeking an LCL Export Clerk to join their team in Essex.
As the LCL Export Clerk, you will manage the end-to-end export process for LCL shipments, monitoring and tracking LCL shipments from origin to destination, ensuring you provide regular updates to customers and internal teams.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be liaising with various internal and external stakeholders, carriers, and overseas agents.
Main duties of the LCL Export Clerk:
Negotiate freight rates with carriers and service providers to help optimize costs for LCL shipments.
Provide first class customer service to clients, addressing any inquiries, resolving all issues, and keeping them informed about shipment statuses throughout the export process.
Invoicing clients within expected time frame.
Prepare all export documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and any other relevant documents required for international shipments.
Identify and resolve any issues or delays that may arise during the export process.
Ensure all shipping documentation is accurately complete.
The successful LCL Export Clerk will have strong knowledge / experience of LCL Export operations, as well as a good understanding of operational requirements regarding Export shipments.
Skills and experience required for the LCL Export Clerk:
Must have some knowledge of the Shipping industry.
Previous experience working for a NVOCC would be an advantage.
Proficient in using freight management software and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
This role would suit a candidate with 1-2 years’ experience looking to develop in their career.
