Our client, providers of freight forwarding services, are currently looking for a Logistics Operator / Planner to join their team in Witham on a full time, permanent basis, dealing with transport, warehouse and container activities.
As Logistics Operator / Planner, you’ll be checking freight arrivals, planning local deliveries to allocated vehicles, and accurately entering consignments on appropriate systems on a day-to-day basis.
Logistics Operator / Planner duties include:
Working alongside a team to ensure the smooth running of the pallet network system.
Building bookings onto FMS then allocating to relevant network system and invoicing accordingly.
Resolving issues and ensuring any discrepancies are reported.
Liaising with clients in a courteous professional manner.
Quoting clients from a designated tariff
Ensuring all consignments have POD assigned to them and then upload onto relevant system.
Ensuring all outbound freight is correctly labelled and scanned before the trailer departs.
Dealing with any issues warehouse may encounter in identifying freight.
Planning deliveries to fleet of domestic vehicles efficiently and instructing drivers accordingly.
Printing end of day manifests.
The department operates between 6am and 8pm, and you will be required to cover the 6am – 3pm shift, or 11am – 8pm shift.
We are keen to speak to people who have experience, as a Logistics Operator / Planner or Transport Planner. A strong understanding of transport legislation is an imperative attribute for a successful Transport Planner, as well as having proactive problem-solving capability. First class customer service and communication skills also go without saying.
