Our client, experts in worldwide Freight Forwarding, are currently seeking an Ocean Freight Import Clerk to join their team in Suffolk.
As the Ocean Freight Import Clerk, you will be working within the busy Seafreight operations team, handling all aspect of imports on a start-to-finish basis. You will be planning and arranging deliveries, sending load lists to agents, and checking manifests once received.
You will be receiving pre-alerts from overseas agents and advising customers of arrival of cargo into the UK.
Other duties of the Ocean Freight Import Clerk will include:
Prepare documentation – creating files both manually and on the computer system.
Receive and check relevant import documentation and passing on to shipping lines
Maintain effective communication with overseas agents / customers / hauliers to facilitate the smooth import process and address any issues or inquiries promptly.
Identify and resolve discrepancies, delays, or any issues related to import shipments.
Ensure data is accurately entered onto the company’s systems and databases to maintain up-to-date and organized records.
The successful Ocean Freight Import Clerk will have 4-5 years’ Import experience, good operational knowledge and knowledge of Customs entries.
You will need to have previous experience working in ocean freight operations, and strong knowledge of customs regulations and import processes.
We are looking to hear from candidates who have experience working as an Import Clerk / Import Operator/ Import Coordinator, etc. from a Freight or Logistics background.
