Sales Executive – Air/Sea Freight Forwarding – Basildon (England)

Our Client is an International Freight Forwarding company providing international and logistical needs from 3PL to sea, road and air freight.  Due to increased global growth, we are seeking a Freight Forwarding Sales Executive to be part of their UK Sales team, working from their Basildon office, with the opportunity for hybrid working also available.

As Freight Forwarding Sales Executive, you will predominantly focus on sea freight and air freight with other modes also being dealt with on occasions.  The role will require frequent travel across the region, therefore a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is required. 

Freight Forwarding Sales Executive Duties:

Focus and drive to achieve targets.
Identify sales opportunities whilst profiling all new businesses to maximise freight / customs sales.
Proactively scope new business opportunities.
Track & manage the CRM system, ensuring ongoing liaison with existing clients, and follow up prospective customers.
Demonstrate a track record of developing and enhancing current client portfolios.
Liaise with customers, suppliers and overseas agents.
Demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge.
Display excellent communication skills that include the ability to influence and negotiate.

Skills, experience:

2 years + working experience in sales, within the freight industry.
Knowledge and experience of Import/Export multimodal business.
Demonstrate high quality communication skills along with good presentation skills.
Proficient with Microsoft packages especially Excel as well as have general PC knowledge.
Good understanding of logistics processes and procedures.
Must be able to prioritise and organise own workload with attention to detail.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be flexible with their working hours, with the ability to work from home.

We’re keen to speak to sales professionals who can demonstrate these competencies.

Working hours are Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5.30pm, with a one-hour lunch break.

In return, the successful Freight Forwarding Sales Executive will be offered a competitive salary package, with a basic up to £40,000 (in line with experience), bonus structure based on targets and company growth.  In addition, there is a £5,000 p/a car allowance, pension plan, eligible to join private medical scheme (after one year’s service), holiday loyalty days and access to discount and perks scheme, which includes grocery shopping, holidays, movies, sports and wellness, along with many more.
