Our client a logistics and global trade management provider are looking for a Senior Shift Customs Clerk to join their team in Dover.
This company operate 24/7 so you must be available to carry out 12 hours shifts rotating days and nights.
Duties of the Senior Shift Customs Clerk:
Supervising a shift team in the absence of the shift supervisor
Ensuring all tasks assigned to the shift team are completed in a compliant manner
Completing the day to day customs clearance work
Assisting the customs clerks with completion of customs paperwork as required
Completing amendments and correspondence to customs
Completion of excise declarations
Assisting with other operational duties within the office at Managers discretion
You will be able assisting staff who have the following Responsibilities:
Advising Clients of cleared shipments
Assisting the senior clerks with completing the day to day road freight sea freight customs clearance work
Assisting the senior clerks with completing the booking and delivery operations of deep sea containers
Assisting with the completion/amendment of road freight bookings as required
Arranging the stamping of T2L documentation
Assisting with the completion of excise declaration
Dock running when required
Skills required for the Senior Shift Customs Clerk:
Full knowledge of customs procedures and principles
Good understanding of Excel spreadsheets
Proficient with customs clearance software
IT Literate
Must be able to meet deadlines
Be conscientious and have attention to details
Be able to be part of a team
Must be able to identify and report problems
Communicate politely and efficiently with clients and internal staff
The successful Senior Shift Customs Clerk will have strong operational know-how of customs clearance procedures and regulations. You’ll be organised by nature and will thrive in a fast paced and dynamic atmosphere, being able to work to deadlines.
