Novus builds momentum with sponsors and students

The Novus Trust scheme is building momentum as the first year of the logistics and supply chain degree course at the University of Huddersfield approaches the end of its second term.

Three new sponsors: high street favourites John Lewis, Halfords and Argos – have signed on to provide Novus scheme students with mentors and the offer of a guaranteed job to those graduating with a 2:1 degree.

These big names join other leading brands and employers such as Arla; ASOS; Brakes Group; Clipper; Cummins; DHL; Dixons Retail; Halfords; Hermes; HOYER; John Lewis; Lafarge Tarmac; Lloyd Fraser; Marks & Spencers; Network Rail; Palletways; Premier Foods; PZ Cussons; Sainsbury’s; Smiths News; Travis Perkins; Unipart; Uniserve and Wincanton.

A tour of UCAS Conventions across the country is now underway, giving the Novus Trust team a great chance to meet young people seeking information on university courses. The first event in Manchester resulted in 350 registrations from interested individuals. Novus will be attending further UCAS Conventions in Bristol, London, Merseyside, Headingley, Sheffield and Birmingham.

“The UCAS Conventions are a great way for the Novus team to engage with young people who are exploring degree courses,” said Andy Kaye, CEO of BiS Henderson (pictured) and chair of the Novus Trust. “In addition to showing the opportunities offered by a career in the exciting and dynamic supply chain sector, Novus can demonstrate the support provided by so many renowned sponsoring companies. The events also allow us to explain how the offer of a guaranteed job, for those who succesfully graduate with a 2:1 degree, is an inspiring innovation. We have received highly positive reaction to the scheme from all those we have met and look forward to meeting many more people as we tour the UK.”
