Our client, who specialise in Freight Forwarding through multimodal services, are currently seeking a EU Import Customs Supervisor for their team based in Essex.
The role of the EU Import Customs Supervisor is to help support the General Manager with the smooth running of the operations, managing the workload of the department and ensuring all jobs are equally distributed between the staff.
You will oversee a team of customs specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and efficient performance.
Main duties of the EU Import Customs Supervisor:
Complete Customs clearances and entries for Air, Road and Sea Freight shipments.
Provide admin support to the Customs Clearing and Multimodal team.
Process customs declarations, both Import & Export to ensure that all clearance processes are complete promptly.
Liaise with external organisations such as HMRC, Shipping lines, Hauliers etc.
Deal with customer enquiries, ensuring you provide accurate advice and estimates.
Identify areas where training is required and oversee the training of new staff.
Ensure all data is correct added to the company system.
The successful EU Import Customs Supervisor will need to have previous experience working in a similar Managerial / Supervisory role within the Freight or Logistics industry.
Experience required of the EU Import Customs Supervisor:
Knowledge of customs declarations.
Ideally some experience of CONEX is required.
Knowledge or experience of CHIEF, CDS, Destin8, Descarte, T1’s, Transit Documents, fixed & simplified.
Experience of Customs declarations, Imports and exports for Road and Sea Freight.
