Our client is a shipping and logistics company, and they are currently looking for an experienced Export Clerk to join their team in Woodford Green, Essex. Day to day, you’ll be responsible for liaising with customers to quote for shipments, negotiating rates, arranging transportation for collections and deliveries, completing customs entries, as well as invoicing and collecting payments.
We’d love to speak to enthusiastic people who have at least 1-2 years experience as an Export Clerk / Coordinator.
You’ll be organised by nature and will thrive in a fast paced and dynamic atmosphere. Being computer literate, having excellent attention to detail skills, as well as being good with numbers and a confident communicator are imperative attributes for the best Export Clerks.
Duties of the Export Clerk:
Creating export files & sending bookings to customs agents
Updating customers with the progress of their consignments
Shipping control
Export documentation (CMRs, eventually learning customs documentation)
Looking after a key account customer
Other general duties, e.g. dealing with customers and hauliers, etc.
Export Clerks and the freight forwarding industry as a whole are currently in very high demand, so its a great sector to build a career in.
