Our client, experts in worldwide Freight Forwarding, are currently seeking an Import Customs Clearance Clerk to join their team in Suffolk.
As the Import Customs Clearance Clerk, you will be ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of import shipments through customs clearance procedures.
Your role will be to provide clients with excellent customer service, assisting them with customs clearance-related inquiries and offering support.
Main duties of the Import Customs Clearance Clerk:
Accurately classify imported products.
Liaise with customs authorities and government agencies to ensure the timely clearance of imported goods.
Prepare and review import customs documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Ensure all records of clearance-related documents and transactions are maintained and organized.
Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders, providing regular updates and resolving any clearance-related issues.
Calculate duty and tax amounts for imported shipments.
Provide accurate quotes for agents.
The successful Import Customs Clearance Clerk will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in import customs clearance for a Freight Forwarding or Logistics company.
You must have a strong understanding of customs regulations, tariff codes, and import procedures.
