Our client, an established Freight Forwarder, are currently seeking an experienced Seafreight LCL Import Clerk to join their team in Kent, to liaise with overseas agents, customers and hauliers as well as advise customers of arrival of cargo into the UK.
As the Seafreight LCL Import Clerk, you will be planning loads & sending load lists to agents, checking manifests once received and passing purchase invoices and dealing with any queries.
We are keen to speak with people who can confidently receive and check relevant import documentation and pass it onto shipping lines. Someone who can plan and arrange LCL deliveries and deal with customs clearances would be perfect for this role.
Other duties of the Seafreight LCL Import Clerk:
Receiving pre-alerts from overseas agents
Charging files
Creating files both manually and on the computer system
Quoting rates
The successful Seafreight LCL Import Clerk will have previous experience with Seafreight LCL shipments, and knowledge of Imports.
The ideal candidate will have good administrative and computer skills i.e. MS Excel. Having some Freight Forwarding experience would be considered, as full training on LCL operations would be given.
