Sea Freight Export Clerk – Birmingham (England)

Our long established logistics Client specialises in air and sea freight solutions for their blue chip customers in the UK and across the globe.  They are currently looking to appoint an experienced Sea Freight Export Clerk for their Birmingham branch, to add extra quality to their already highly skilled team.

As Sea Freight Export Clerk, you will be responsible for order management, dealing with customer enquiries, export documentation, bills of lading and working in close cooperation with other branches while servicing UK customers.    On a day-to-day basis you’ll be arranging export collections for UK based customers, checking deliveries, instructing the customs department to issue customs documents, bills of lading, and offering administrational support.

Sea Freight Export Clerk duties include:

Timely and effective communication with Customers, partners and internal departments via e-mail/telephone.
Updating / verifying the company’s order management system with customer booking details.
Liaising with Operations and overseas offices to ensure customer commitments are delivered upon.
Effective monitoring to ensure deliveries are completed within the agreed timelines.
Ensure that all collection consignments are conforming to correct information.
Pro-active problem solving with customers and colleagues when issues arise.
Ensure consignments are rated correctly, in order to Invoice in an accurate and timely manner.
Provide KPI and reports both externally and internally where required.
Resolve credit management queries where necessary.
General administrative duties.

We’re keen to speak to proactive, organised people who have sea / ocean export experience and working knowledge of arranging shipments and the documentation involved.

You’ll be engaged and motivated with good attention to detail by nature and will thrive in a fast paced and dynamic atmosphere.  Being computer literate, having excellent attention to detail skills, as well as being good with numbers and a confident communicator are imperative attributes for the best Sea Freight Export Clerks.
