Air Freight & REDs Coordinator – Slough (England)

Our client are a specialist in Freight Forwarding, Transportation and Logistics Solutions, and they are currently looking for an Air Freight & REDs Coordinator for their Heathrow branch. You will coordinate Air Freight activities and REDS activities.

Hours of this role are Monday to Friday 08.30 – 17.30 with one-hour unpaid lunch, and you will be offered a salary of up to £30k.

Duties of the Air Freight & REDs Coordinator:

Ensure all air import/export jobs are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
Ensure all customs declaration tasks are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
Report immediately to the line manager any amendments to customs declarations.
Run spot checks on customs entries every other week ad-hoc and hand over to line manager once completed weekly.
Maintain regular communications with the network and sales team.
Report any sales leads (new clients/handover shipment/etc.) to the line manager for distribution to the sales team.
Create SOP’s for any regular business.
Provide quotations to the sales team/clients and network within 2 hours of receipt and report to Line manager.
Ensure one format for quotations and a recording system is in place for all quotes for Air.
Look and propose new efficiencies in customer workflow and discuss with salesperson if allocated or line manager.
Coordinate all REDS activities and maintain auditing of the date processed.
Liaise with HMRC and maintenance of customs procedures.
Ensure all reports are completed as per provided deadline.
Ensure the SOP’s are followed completely.
Handle any mode of transport if required to do so and instructed by the line manager.
Ensure that all invoicing/job costing is done within 48 hours of departure or arrival of the goods, unless otherwise agreed with the line manager, weekly report as agreed.
Look and propose new efficiencies in customer work flow.
Ensure that all goods under the company’s deferment account are approved for delivery with accounts or line manager or an agreement must be placed on SOP’s or quotes.
Passing invoices from suppliers and providers within 48 hours from receipt.
Ensure insurance is charged correctly.
Ensure insurance claims are given to the claims department immediately.
Propose and report to Line Manager; strategies related to the Air products.

Experience required for the Air Freight & REDs Coordinator:

Proven experience, gained ideally within the Freight Forwarding sector.
Knowledge and experience of Import/Export multimodal business.
Knowledge/skills required for Air Freight sales and products.
Demonstrate quality communication skills along with good presentation skills.
Proficient with Microsoft packages especially Ms Excel and general PC knowledge.
Good understanding of logistics processes and procedures.
Must be able to prioritise and organise own workload with attention to detail.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be flexible with their working hours.
