Our client are the UK’s leading independent logistics and trade management provider, and they are currently looking for two Business Development Manager for their branch in Tilbury. One BDM will be covering Essex, Hertfordshire, East London and Bedfordshire, the other SE London, Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Part of SW London / A3 corridor.
As the Business Development Manager, you must be constantly striving for new business and develop a pipeline of business opportunities, and in addition to this responsibility, build and maintain professional business relationships across a portfolio of high value clients, focusing on growing their business with the company through extensive business development activity and appropriate cross sales.
The successful Business Development Manager will receive a salary up to £45k, plus commission and benefits.
Duties of the Business Development Manager:
To achieve agreed service targets through a client contact strategy by face to face review meetings, telephone and e-mail.
Achieve individually assigned sales targets, both financial and non-financial.
Continually drive and develop income from designated client base through additional business opportunities and added value services identified.
To provide expert support, advice and service to both customers and colleagues.
To implement the BDM strategy internally with all colleagues and to review strategy with each member of the designated team weekly.
To act as mentor to Sales Administrators to develop their skill sets.
To update and maintain client records held on BDM Meetings and or CRM systems for designated client portfolio.
Provide support and input to Commercial Director and Business Leaders regarding implementation of existing and new services that become available.
Develop new business for all areas of the business.
Attend all compulsory training and meeting events called by the Group Commercial Director.
Develop a detailed knowledge of all the services in all areas of the groups businesses.
If asked, to specialise in any number of specific areas.
Develop the skills identified by the GCDM, to promote a professional image of the company and standing with customers at all times.
To help with the development of the business with generating leads.
Work with the Sales Administration team promoting a team ethic.
Produce reports as and when requested by the GCDM or his representative.
To support the GCDM at all times presenting and promoting Business Development professionally & positively to customers, colleagues and all group staff.
To use the Sales tools (equipment, materials, presentations and the like) and techniques provided by the business.
