Deep Sea Operations Clerk – Essex – VR/21916
Our client, a global logistics service provider, is looking for a Deep Sea Operations Clerk to join their team based in Essex.
Duties of the Import / Export Operator include:
- Manage import and export processes from start to finish
- Liaise with UK warehouses/clearing agents
- Liaise with overseas partners, agents, customers, hauliers
- Track shipments and communicate progress to clients
- Send NOA and invoices to UK importers prior to shipments arriving
- Arrange to release/deliver cargo
- Receiving pre-alerts from overseas agents
- Creating files both manually and on the computer system
- Advising customers of arrival of cargo into the UK
- Planning loads and sending load lists to agents
- Checking manifests once received
- Receiving and checking relevant import documentation and passing on to shipping lines
- Customs clearance
- Planning and arranging deliveries
- Ensure cost estimates are entered on all jobs within the correct accounting month
- Check purchase invoices are correct on receipt. Pass all correct invoices for payment and dealing with any queries
- Close files after checking everything has been charged / costed and maximum profitability is achieved
Experience required from the Deep Sea Import / Export Clerk:
- Experience in handling shipments from start to finish, including quotations
- Excellent customer service experience
- Confident communication skills
- Good organisational skills
- Good attention to detail
- Can work to deadlines and handle pressure
- Quick thinker / problem solving
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic character
- Ability to work with and support a team
- Computer literate
In return, the successful Deep Sea import / Export Clerk will receive a salary according to experience.
