Mobile Maintenance Engineer – Felixstowe (England)

Our client is a privately owned international freight and logistics company, and they are currently seeking a Mobile Maintenance Engineer. You will be responsible for their Terminal Centre in Tilbury and the new Distribution Centre in Felixstowe; due to that there is flexibility to home base location.

You will carry out day-to-day maintenance, calibration, repair, and continual development of all equipment and plant services within the mechanical and electrical scope of the Site Health, Safety and Facilities department, with due regard to all relevant regulations, guidelines, and practices.

Responsibilities of the Mobile Maintenance Engineer:

Ensuring compliance with company policies relating to health, safety and welfare legislation
Advising the site management team of any existing or new electrical installations that are unsafe or that do not meet currently regulatory standards
Supervision of technicians where necessary at the distribution centers
Obtaining components, fixtures, or fittings where necessary for sites
Repairing of business equipment
Conducting repairs on building fabric and installed assets
Having ownership of fault finding and ensuring satisfactory fault rectification
Having ownership of the completion of maintenance / facilities related H&S Action points and initiatives
Conduct other building maintenance tasks as required, problem solving and fault finding
Performing scheduled maintenance on electrical infrastructure, systems and equipment
Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems while observing all statutory and legal requirements
Inspecting electrical systems and equipment for any damage, malfunctions and safety hazards
Carry out electrical installation condition reports (EICR), and complete identified remedial works
Produce certification for electrical alterations / installations and tests
Responding effectively to breakdowns

Skills and Experience required from the Mobile Maintenance Engineer:

Must have completed electrical apprenticeship and have a recognized electrical qualification
Must be a member of governing body such as NAPIT or NICEIC
Must be certified to carryout inspection and testing, and provide certification for work
Experience in warehousing or similar automated systems preferable
Must be proactive logical thinker with problem solving ability
Experience within commercial property maintenance
IT literate
Driven and self-motivated
Proactive problem-solving capability
Flexibility and adaptability
Able to work to deadlines and meet targets
Excellent communication skills
Team Player
