Our client are an event management company based in Birmingham, and they are currently looking for a Multimodal Freight Forwarder to join their team.
As the Multimodal Freight Forwarder, you will be responsible for delivering profitable and quality driven logistics operations to global events where the company is appointed as official provider, or for clients with shipments to events in the UK and Worldwide. You will manage assigned events within the company portfolio from concept through to completion and lead the logistics operation whilst onsite at each event.
Responsibilities of the Multimodal Freight Forwarder:
Deliver consistent high-quality operations to position the company as the premier logistics player in the UK and overseas market
Manage and provide effective support to logistics operations at events where the company is appointed official supplier
Plan and coordinate all events activities, ensuring plans are communicated to relevant personnel both internal and external
Manage the Import/Export process, create shipping instructions and tariffs for events and arrange customs clearance as required
Ensure H&S regulations are adhered to including the preparation of risk assessments and method statements
Manage onsite resources during event, liaising with relevant managers and maintaining open communication with the client
Maintain regular contact with the client and ensure regular meetings are scheduled either over the phone or face to face
Proactively identify and anticipate Client needs
Develop and Implement ideas for improvement of delivery of services
Maintain strong personal networks with clients, agents, venues and suppliers
Prepare detailed, accurate client quotations on a timely basis
Support and lead onsite teams in delivering client operations
Be present onsite to perform and oversee client operations as required
Actively engage in continuous improvement ensuring suggestions and opportunities are highlighted to your line manager
Demonstrate commitment to the core values of the company
Take a participative role in the Company’s sustainability initiative and ensure where possible your actions support the achievement of this initiative; reuse, recycle and replenish
Ensure compliance with all health and safety, corporate, client and legislative standards across the function
Hours: 37.5 hour week working Monday to Friday, typically between the hours of 8.30 – 5.00 (with one hour unpaid lunch). You may also be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods, in order to meet the demands of the business, including overseas travel as required.
