Experienced Sea Freight Import Manager required for a global leader in NVOCC services based in Basildon, Essex. We’d love to speak to enthusiastic people who have previous experience working as a Sea Freight Import Manager / Supervisor. This is a full time, permanent position with a salary of £38-40k depending on skills and experience.
Successful Sea Freight Import Managers have a good operational know-how of import procedures, excellent customer service skills and commercial sense. You’ll be a proficient communicator; in person, on the phone and in writing.
Duties of the Sea Freight Import Manager:
- Direction and leadership – team / supervision / management
- Attitude / discipline / morale
- Troubleshooting
- Responsible for Operators understanding / running of tradelanes
- Customer service
- Supplier management – Warehouse / Rent Rate negotiation
- Tracking of budget vs actual figures monthly
- Communication with Sales department
- Ensure even distribution of workload between operators
- System management – relating to costs / service info being available in the system
- Ensure outsourcing is being managed effectively by back office
- Plan for adequate holiday cover
