Our client is an International Freight Forwarder specialising in Air Freight, Sea Freight, Road Freight, Supply Chain Management & Distribution, and they are currently looking for a Sea Freight Operator for their Operations Team in North London. This position is part office based / part remote working.
You will be required to manage the day to day worldwide sea freight export and import bookings and all of the related administration.
As a Sea Freight Operator, you will have existing sea freight forwarding / operations experience, along with strong customer service or sales experience in rate negotiations and delivering quotations. Experience using Cargowise is a distinct advantage.
Duties of the Sea Freight Operator:
- Manage the day to day bookings worldwide sea freight jobs
- Raising job files and all appropriate paperwork
- Extensive client liaison to include quotations, follow up, bookings and problem solving
- Internal liaison with the Sales Team, assisting with quotations and service information
- Managing the jobs from start to finish in line with the client expectations and communicating effectively any service issues
- Maximising the gross profit by negotiating with the supplier base
- Invoicing jobs on completion
